Graduate Student Reading Groups
Reading groups are organized by History Department graduate students in close consultation with History Department faculty members. Through the sessions, participants deeply engage with a particular topic and forthcoming/recent publications.
Reading groups meet periodically throughout the year to hold their discussion sessions. The sessions do not include presentations by non-Stanford speakers. Each reading workshop is led by a Faculty Organizer, who shapes the workshop programming in close conversation with a Graduate Student Coordinator, who manages all group logistics. The Department provides funding, guidance on event planning and execution, and administrative support.
Please review the list of current reading group series and contact the organizers with questions.
