Intersections of Development in Latin America - A Graduate Student Symposium on Infrastructure and Building the Modern State

The objective of this symposium is to bring together a diverse and multidisciplinary group of greater Bay Area junior scholars to share and discuss research-in-progress concerning a broad topic that cuts across political, economic, and social lines in Latin America. This workshop focuses on infrastructure and its role in the development of Latin America. This one-day event features multiple panels where grad students will discuss their current research amidst their peers in sessions moderated by a faculty member pertinent to their field or research interests. In this manner, grads focusing on Latin American studies from the greater Bay Area’s research institutions can hone their arguments and seek constructive feedback while enjoying a semi-informal, collegial atmosphere conducive to networking and the exchange of ideas.

This symposium is open to the public.

May 1st, 2015, 9:00am-5:30pm

At Bolivar House, Stanford University
