Lecturer Position in History, Stanford University

The Department of History at Stanford University invites applications for a 3-year Lecturer position in any sub-field and historical period. The teaching load is 6 undergraduate courses each academic year. Two of these courses will be offered through Stanford’s COLLEGE program, and four will be offered in the History Department. The position will also assist with developing and mounting the History Department’s undergraduate capstone requirement.

Successful candidate must have their Ph.D. in History in hand no later than July 1, 2023. The appointment would be for three academic years with a possibility of renewal.  The salary range for this position is $84,000-86,000 for the 2023-24 academic year. Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the qualifications of the selected candidate, budget availability, and internal equity.
