Professor Caroline Winterer spoke at National Constitutional Center about how the American founders drew inspiration from not only classical Greece and Rome, but other civilizations in the ancient world, including Carthage, Rome’s mortal enemy.

Organized in collaboration with University of Pennsyslvania, the discussion was accompanied by three lectures by Professor Winterer about American Antiquities: Beyond the Classical World of the American Founders.
