I am a historian of modern Europe, with a focus on the history of empire in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. I received my Ph.D. in History from Harvard where I was also a postdoctoral College Fellow. My first book, provisionally titled “Found in Translation: Empire and the Invention of the French Social Sciences,” explores the colonial and Indigenous origins of the modern European social sciences. My research and writing has been published in American Historical Review, Modern Intellectual History, New German Critique, Aeon, and Boston Review.
