Jackie Olson

B.A., Vanderbilt University

Jackie is a Ph.D. student in the Modern European field. Her research is primarily on postwar memory and the social and cultural implications of changing burial practices in Germany and Austria. Before Stanford, Jackie received her B.A. in History and German from Vanderbilt University and spent two years in Vienna researching and teaching English in two high schools on an Austrian Fulbright Grant. While in Vienna, she interned and worked at Centropa, the Central Europe Center for Research and Documentation, as a scriptwriter for a Kindertransport podcast project.  

This past summer, she was a Summer Student Research Fellow at the Jack, Joseph, and Morton Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC. Currently, she is a graduate research assistant for a spatial narratives project using Holocaust testimonies funded by the National Science Foundation.
