Jordan Virtue

Jordan Virtue is a PhD student in the U.S. history field. She researches the political and cultural history of the Civil War and Reconstruction. Her historical and literary work is particularly interested in memory politics, asking how the past has been memorialized and misconstrued, remembered and misremembered. Her honors thesis at Harvard University uncovered the legacy of universities and the Civil War in William Faulkner’s novels, and her masters thesis at the University of Cambridge focused on the historical memory of Mississippi Reconstruction.
