Jordan Virtue

Jordan Virtue is a PhD student in U.S. History studying the political and cultural history of the Civil War and Reconstruction eras. Her research explores memory politics, asking how the past has been memorialized and misconstrued, remembered and misremembered. Jordan holds a bachelors in English from Harvard University and a MPhil in History from the University of Cambridge. She has previously published on William Faulkner, and her article on John F. Kennedy and Mississippi Reconstruction appeared in The Atlantic’s special issue “To Reconstruct the Nation.” Her current projects range from Confederate propaganda in Britain to Paul Laurence Dunbar.
