Kayra Guven
A.B., History, Princeton University
Kayra Guven is a second-year Ph.D. student in the field of Transnational, International, and Global History. Prior to Stanford, she earned her A.B. in History from Princeton. Her senior thesis explored the ways in which different imperial powers—especially France—undermined Haitian sovereignty in public and private settings during the nineteenth century. She is interested in cultural, social, and labor history.
Currently, she is working on two projects, one about French Mandate Rule over Syria, and the other about French migration to California during the Third Republic.
