Lauren Urbont

Lauren is a PhD candidate (ABD) in the Department of History.  Her research is devoted to relations between Jewish and Christian communities in the period between the First Crusade and the Black Death in German-speaking lands, with a focus on cultures of death, burial, and commemoration.  She has taught undergraduate courses at Stanford on ancient and medieval inter-faith relations between Judaism, Islam, and Christianity in the Middle East, West Asia and Europe, as well as the global ancient world.
