Magdalene is a Ph.D. Candidate in History and holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School. Her research focuses on race, gender, and the law in the late-nineteenth-century United States. Her scholarship has been published the Stanford Law Review, Michigan Journal of Gender & Law, and the Washington Post. Inspiring her historical research, Magdalene has worked on behalf of civil rights and social justice initiatives at the NAACP, Brennan Center for Justice, and Kaplan, Hecker & Fink LLP.  She clerked for the Hon. M. Margaret McKeown of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
