Merve Nur Kocyigit

Merve Nur Kocyigit is an M.A. student in History at Stanford University. Her research focuses on the social and cultural history of the late Ottoman Empire, with particular interests in American Protestant missionary education, especially women’s and girls’ education; women and gender; religion; and Ottoman-American encounters, with particular attention to the ways transnational educational and cultural models were negotiated and reconfigured within local social and confessional contexts.
