Xin Zheng

I am a master's student studying Early Modern material culture in Europe. Before coming to Stanford, I received my B.A. in History and Art History from Georgetown University. My undergraduate theses examined the intersections of identity, material culture, and cultural exchange. Building on these foundations, my current research focuses on the proliferation of commercial and cultural exchanges between Europe and Asia during the early modern era. In particular, I am interested in exploring how Europeans negotiated their own identity in relation to their increasing contact with Asia.
