Join us for a conversation with Joshua Cohen, author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Netanyahus (2021) among many other critically acclaimed novels including Moving Kings (2017), Book of Numbers (2015), and Witz (2010). Cohen will join Daniel E. Koshland Professor in Jewish Culture and History and faculty director of the Taube Center, Steven J. Zipperstein, to explore Jewish literature, politics, and what it means to use history to write about the present.

Harold Bloom on Joshua Cohen:  "Call it Sleep by Henry Roth, Miss Lonelyhearts by Nathaniel West, Sabbath's Theater by Philip Roth, and quite possibly [Cohen's] Book of Numbers are the four best books by Jewish writers in America....I cannot think of anything by anyone in [his] generation that is frighteningly relevant and composed with such continuous eloquence."

Co-sponsored with the Stanford Humanities Center, the Departments of English and History, and the Creative Writing Program.
