Anna Toledano is a Ph.D. candidate in history of science. Her in-progress dissertation, “Collecting Empire: The Science and Politics of Natural History Museums in New Spain, 1770-1820,” focuses on natural history collecting in eighteenth-century Spain and Spanish America. She is also a museum professional and developed content for exhibitions and collections at the New York Botanical Garden from 2012 to 2015. Her academic work has been supported by the Huntington Library and Gardens as well as the Europe Center and the Center for Latin American Studies at Stanford.
