Anna Toledano is a PhD candidate studying history of science. Her dissertation, “Collecting Empire: The Science and Politics of Natural History Museums in New Spain, 1770–1820,” focuses on natural history collecting in eighteenth-century Spain and Spanish America. Anna’s academic work has been supported by the Huntington Library, the John Carter Brown Library, the Mabelle McLeod Lewis Memorial Fund, and the Europe Center and the Center for Latin American Studies at Stanford University. She is also a museum professional and developed content for exhibitions and collections at the New York Botanical Garden.
