Anna Toledano is a PhD candidate in history of science. Her dissertation, “Collecting Empire: The Science and Politics of Natural History Museums in New Spain, 1770-1820,” focuses on natural history collecting in eighteenth-century Spain and Spanish America. Her academic work has been supported by the Huntington Library, the John Carter Brown Library, and the Europe Center and the Center for Latin American Studies at Stanford. She is also a museum professional and developed content for exhibitions and collections at the New York Botanical Garden from 2012 to 2015.
