Gang Hao Poh
Ganghao received his B.A at the University of Michigan where he completed his Honors thesis that focused on comparative frontier history between ancient Rome and Han Dynasty China. He then went on to the University of Pennsylvania to further his training on ancient languages in the Classic department's Post BA program. His current research examines the frontier dynamics during the age of civil wars in both late imperial Rome and Three Kingdoms Period China. Based on an extensive study of transmitted texts, manuscripts, and archaeological evidences, his study investigates the direct link between the lack of central political control and the military developments at the frontiers of empires.
Ganghao's teaching experience involves world history, central asia, and comparative history. In Fall 2019, he taught his self-designed sources and methods course, History 96S, "The World the Mongols Made."
