Mariana Calvo

BA, Public Policy & History, Duke University ’17

Mariana Calvo is a second-year History PhD Student at Stanford University in Transnational, International, and Global history with a focus on telegraph history. More specifically, she is interested in the lived experiences of a small diaspora of British telegraphers that moved across the globe.  

Outside of academia, Mariana has an avid interest in photography and journalism. Prior to Stanford, Mariana worked as a freelance journalist in Medellin, Colombia and New York City covering themes related to migration and drug trafficking.
