Merve Tekgürler

Before coming to Stanford, Merve received their BA from Freie Universität Berlin and worked there as a student assistant with the Chair for the Early Modern History. Their main focus has been on the interactions and relations of the Ottoman Empire with Central Europe, particularly with Germany. Currently they are working on Ottoman-Polish borderlands of 17th and 18th centuries, with an emphasis on the changes and continuities in the region during the partitions of Poland. Merve is currently involved in multiple CESTA project and working on their own project on the digitalisation of Ottoman-Polish border.
